Diabetes occurs when glucose(blood sugar) levels are above the normal range. Upper limit is 120mg/dL

Diabetes is a condition that is very prevalent in our society. It is the 5th leading cause of death-70% of all these deaths occur from congestive heart failure. It is the LEADING cause of blindness worldwide.

Type1 – Juvenile diabetes. Occurs in childhood..

The beta cells in the pancreas cant produce sufficient quantities of the hormone Insulin to convert glucose into energy. Therefore there is too much glucose in the body.

Type 2- Occurs later in life.
